The South African Minister of International Relations and Cooperation talked favorably about the relationship between Moscow and Beijing before the BRICS summit, which started on Tuesday in Russia.
Ronald Lamola said that South Africa and the other country trust each other. He mentioned that South Africa is ready for more investment and working together.
It is a trusting relationship that helps both people involved. “Chinese companies have invested a lot in our country. We are thinking about how this can help our country, add value in South Africa, and support local manufacturing, which we believe can boost our economy,” Lamola said.
The BRICS meeting will go on until October 24th.
Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa first formed the BRICS group.
This summit will be the first one since the group included Egypt, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Ethiopia, and Iran.
BRICS countries are often seen as a balance to the Western world and make up about 28 percent of the global economy.
